Understanding the 4Cs of Diamond Grading
Jul 23,2025 | Diabond
Each diamond is unique, just like a human fingerprint. The 4Cs (Carat, Color, Clarity, and Cut) are the globally recognized standards for assessing diamond quality, indicating the quality of the diamond and having the most direct correlation with its value. In addition to carat, the levels of the other 3Cs also directly affect the price of the diamond, so two diamonds of the same 1 carat may have different prices due to their respective colors, clarity, and cut. Naturally, diamonds with higher 4Cs will have a higher selling price.
Cultivated diamonds also come with internationally recognized GIA/IGI certificates. They provide specialized laboratory diamond certificates to verify the quality and authenticity of synthetic diamonds. These certificates include the diamond's 4C ratings, which are carat, color, clarity, and cut.
